Philip Starkman

Philip has a broad and unique background in the field of Whole Person Health. Over the years, he has studied, taught and counselled at the University of California, worked in natural health centres, psychiatric and general hospitals, coached business people, government officials, athletes, musicians and actors; co-created and ran a wellness centre; taught hatha yoga and counselled foreign university students. His studies and work have taken him to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, the U.S. and Mexico. Spiritual development has been an integral part of his studies and work for over 35 years. He is an experienced meditator who pursued studies wherever he needed to go to receive authentic teachings. Eight of those years were spent in meditation retreat in Asia.

His clientele ranges from those who are physically and/or emotionally hurting to those functioning on a relatively high level but who want to continue to grow. Since he sees those who come to him as whole people, lifestyle counselling and stress reduction training are central to his approach. Depending on the immediate needs of the group or individual, he might guide them to a more joyful, healthier life through nutritional changes, exercise, meditation, breath work, progressive relaxation, or coach and counsel them with regard to emotional and/or cognitive problem-solving. When appropriate, he does hands-on therapeutic energy work, employing a number of modalities.
